The chip of the evil Fu Manchu

I keep reading Bloomberg accusing the Chinese of having chips inserted into the motherboard in order to spy, and I experience a feeling that goes from fun to sarcasm. It goes from fun to sarcasm because I try to figure out how to work that thing.
You have to understand one thing: physical hardware to the data there are many, but many levels of abstraction. And each of these levels “blurs” the data, in the sense that today almost all data centers are virtualized, where virtualized means if I proponessi to read specific information of a specific program, finding myself on the motherboard level, it would be difficult succeed.
