The mountain of shit theory

Priority’.

Priority'.

There is a reason why I hit the Italian press system very systematically these days. The first reason is that I see news around which there is not in Italy. For example, do you know that Britain has already violated the Brexit treaty? No?

Well, here it is:

https://www.dw.com/en/brexit-eu-takes-legal-action-against-uk-over-northern-ireland/a-56873761

Basically, the British have been pissing off for years with I'm negotiating to have a treaty, and soon after that they don't give a damn and break it. One wonders what is the point of negotiating with an Englishman, and I realize that for the newspapers of Italian financiers this situation remains embarrassing: the country of the "Rule of Law" that doesn't give a damn about the treaties it has just signed does not seem exactly the right country with which to enter into new treaties.

And the famous Anglo-Saxon correctness, all the famous history and tradition and the five o'clock and trafalgar square and everything that has always been said, it seems, was false: England is showing itself for the gangster country it is. always been.

But there is one thing that annoys me even more, and it is the mephitic (and even murderous) influence with which the Italian press has managed to change the priorities of the fight against the virus, assigning the driving license winners to those who are not so much winners.

this is the covid situation in European countries with more inhabitants, from the most inhabited to the least.

Priority'.

First of all, as you can see, in England today there are six hundred thousand active cases, more than in Italy. Much less than in France, where the situation seems devastating.

If we look at the situation per million, I would say that in the case of the war on covid, both for total deaths and in the case of deaths per million, the UK is not there. Its numbers are, in theory, the worst both in the number of cases per million (together with France) and in the field of total numbers. It is only ahead in the field of "total recovered".

But in the UK there was a huge massacre, even worse than the Italian one (1800 cases per million against 1600), and despite the fact that Italy was hit much earlier.

Anyone who says the UK is to be taken as an example is tampering with the numbers and lying about the facts. The number of active cases is still gigantic, even in proportion to Italy. To paint England as the country that “got out of Covid” simply means LYING.

The same happens, if we look at the numbers, with Germany, and also the situation in Italy is not as they describe it: the number of serious cases (i.e. hospitalized) is very high, but the number of deaths and deaths per million is lower than the English one. A sign that Italian health care is better than English.

Why was it possible to make the British pass as the country that best managed the pandemic? It is certainly not the numbers of the pandemic that make sense: of course, they approved AstraZeneca without testing it, but what seemed like a good gimmick risks becoming a good boomerang if it turns out that in the end AstraZeneca kills more than expected.

BUT the question was: how is it possible to make England pass for the country that has managed the epidemic best?

Looking at what interests the bankers who run the Italian newspapers: "now England is reopening its factories and shops". Aha. Very beautiful.

And this is the most horrendous crime I see: persuading the population that in a pandemic it is not human lives that count, but turnover.

A very simple thing has to be said. IN the event of a pandemic, the problem is to save lives. And that's priority number ONE. But it's not that turnover is the number two priority. No, it's still saving lives.

For one simple reason: during a pandemic there is ONLY ONE priority: saving lives.

Finance is irrelevant. The economy is irrelevant. Shops are irrelevant. Factories are irrelevant. TURNOVER is irrelevant.

In a pandemic, the only thing that matters is saving lives. Point.

There are no "buts". There are no "but also". No. Because you can't go to one and tell him “we decided to kill your father because the florists have to keep it open”.

I can understand the students' frustration, but someone tried to explain to them "could you also kill your mother with your virus?". No. Of course, we could discuss a lipstick minister who spends € 300 per chair / desk when with € 300 she could buy (at least) this:

Priority'.

and make self-sufficient students who only had home computers (used by parents) to follow lessons using teams, or google, or whatever they wanted.

But this is not the point: the point is that if the difficulties were surmountable, the priorities are not questionable: saving lives.

Of course, I'm not saying that to save grandfather the florist has to shut down and fuck off. It must close and receive money to live. Obvious. It is priority number two, as florists eat and die without eating. But even here: the priority is human life. Of the father as of the florist.

What the Italian press has managed to do, in some way, is to convince people that companies also count. Their turnover. Their profit.

And therefore the nation with the fewest deaths per million does not win. No. According to the financial newspapers, the "winner" of this pandemic is the country that will start billing again earlier.

I don't know how to define those who made the decision to drug people with this nonsense: pigs with no conscience? Cowards without honor? Lives unworthy of being lived ?

In a pandemic, the ONLY priority is human life:

  1. minimize the number of deaths directly killed by the virus.
  2. minimize the number of deaths indirectly killed by the virus (eg: helping those who do not work and have no more income).

End. There are no others. Turnover doesn't matter.

Instead, I see the cultural work continuing, to convince people that in a pandemic, turnover is a priority like any other.

And then the winners are not those who have the fewest deaths, but those who have had the best balance sheets at the end of the year.

I repeat: for this generation of evil old men in power, history will have only words of contempt. One day we will spit on their graves their children will be ashamed to bear their name.
